We Love Our Music Teachers

SISD music teachers throughout the district deserve accolades for the programs, concerts, and presentations for which they are responsible as the 2007-2008 school year comes to a close. The extra hours they spend practicing, preparing props, and making costumes is much appreciated by parents, core teachers and administrators.

Happy Earth Day

Under the direction of Lila Honts , Washington second grade students dida fabulous job performing, Earth Day, a theme musical which increased everyone's awareness of our need to conserve our natural resources, both plants and animals and to recycle.

In this photo, students make a promise to make this world a better place as they sing HAPPY EARTHDAY.

Fairview Musical

Fairview third graders performed a take-off on the popular hit musical, High School Musical. Talented students sang solos, danced and cheered.

Fairview School Musical was directed by Fairview music teacher, Kim Brown.

The Body Boogie

Crutchfield music teacher, Judy Hudson and her 4th grade students recently performed a musical promoting good health and good choices.

Learning Celebration

At the Jefferson Elementary school Celebration of Learning parents and grandparents fill the gym to hear their child’s name called for excellence in reading, math, citizenship and initiative.

Shown here is Mrs. Dalke's 4th grade student, Akaysia Moore with her proud parents, Tierra and Hycint Azubuike. Akaysia received recognition in reading this nine weeks.

Earth Dome

With measurements of 19 feet tall and 22 feet across, Perrin students welcomed the largest globe that has ever graced the Perrin gym! Brought here by Mobile Education Productions from Redford, Michigan, the earth dome is a gigantic map of planet earth and a great learning tool. For starters, students learn geography, geology and weather patterns. Students are invited inside to sit and learn many amazing earthly facts.

Fairview Living Museum

Erica Morris’ class at Fairview presented: The Living Museum, Texas Struggles for Independence during the last week of school. Led by a tour guide, guests followed Texas history beginning with Mexico’s independence and then the Battles of Alamo, Goliad, San Jacinto and finally the annexation into the United States of America. Guests were amazed at the amount of knowledge memorized by the actors and the authenticity of props and costumes. All students researched battles and people, wrote their reports and created backdrops specific to their event.

Wakefield Mustang Awards

Thank you to Piner students, Brailey Collins and Jordan Bardee who sang to Wakefield students at the end of year awards celebration. It was a good "note" on which to end the year!

A Mustang thank you is also extended to the Whitesboro band for adding that extra spirit and fun with the drum rolls and celebratory songs they performed.

Mustang Workers
