BONHAM -  The Fannin County Community Ministries (FCCM) again this year benefitted from the Post Office Workers Annual Food Drive.  Postal Carriers left sacks at all the homes in Bonham to be filled with food, which they collected on Saturday, May 10.

“The time and extra effort of the postal employees and the generosity of the people of Bonham is greatly appreciated,” stated Vicki Hutchins, President of FCCM.  “In this food drive we get so much ‘luxury food’ that we only get this one time a year,” stated Hutchins.  “Things like sugar, coffee, cake mixes, baby food, and so on.  Our clients certainly look forward to having this extra variety available to them!”

“We also could not accomplish the sorting of this massive amount of food without the generosity of our FCCM volunteers, and the volunteers that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides each year,” said Hutchins.  “The Mormons also let us use their Cultural Hall to sort the food each year.  They have been doing this service project long enough that it all goes very quickly.”

“We would once again like to thank the people of Bonham, the Postal Workers, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their help in collecting, sorting, and boxing over 4,000 pounds of food.” stated Ms. Hutchins. “Finally, we’d like to especially thank the Kwik Check at 9th and Center for feeding the Postal Workers for us.  We appreciate everyone’s help in making this food drive a success.”
