On May 29, 2008 the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office executed an Arrest Warrant on Michael Scott Call, a 44 year old man from Trenton, Texas.  The arrest warrant was executed at the Whitewright Middle School where Michael Call has been employed as a teacher for the past eight years.

A subsequent search warrant was executed at the home of Michael Call located on State Highway 121 just outside of Trenton, Texas.  Even though the arrest occurred at the Whitewright Middle School, there was no danger to the students nor was there any disruption at the school.

Wednesday May 28, 2008 the Santa Fe (Texas) Police Department contacted the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office in reference to Michael Call.  The Santa Fe Police Department is part of an internet crimes task force that targets sexual predators.  According to the Santa Fe Police, Michael Call has been participating in on-line chats with what Mr. Call presumed was a 14-year-old female since February of 2008.  As the on-line chats progressed Michael Call had conducted on-line dialogue with a sexual nature with the presumed 14-year-old female.  According to the Santa Fe Police, Michael Call had even asked the female to get a cell phone so that they could talk and exchange more pictures.

Michael Call had installed a “web cam” on his computer that he used to perform inappropriate acts for what he believed was a 14-year-old girl.  It appeared that Mr. Call was “on-line” with the alleged 14-year-old girl when the arrest warrant was executed at the school.  At this time there is no evidence to indicate that ANY student of the Whitewright School District has been a victim of this suspect.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office seized computers, cameras, clothing, thumb drives, discs and miscellaneous electronics from Mr. Call.  The computer equipment will be sent to the United States Secret Service for their forensic team to withdraw any evidence that may be contained within.

Sheriff’s Keith Gary stated that the Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the execution of the warrants by the Texas Rangers, Whitewright Police Department, Fannin County Sheriff’s Office and full cooperation from the Whitewright Independent School District.

Sheriff Gary stated, “I continue to be amazed and appalled by the number of people who participate with the on-line solicitation of minor children.  We see this type of arrest on the news and on national television program’s all the time, but I was hoping I wouldn’t see it in Grayson County.  The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office will actively pursue these type of cases and continue to assist any agency with these crimes.”
