Gary Hall, owner of Hall Supply Company, contacted Bonham City Manager Corby Alexander on Thursday, May 15 to state he would pledge $500 toward the project to paint a Warrior logo on the new water tower and at the same time Mr. Hall issued a challenge to all the other businesses in town to do the same or more. That makes Hall Supply Company the first company to step forward with a cash contribution to save a logo some Bonhamites grew up with and one that others have evidently grown very fond of.

Several options have been considered in case there aren't enough businessmen like Gary Hall who realize there are a lot of eyes on that water tower right now. It would be hard to imagine a better way to promote a business than by preserving a city's heritage and supporting the area youth at the same time. Other possibilities include a variety of fundraisers, from bake sales to musical events.
And one former Warrior has an option that might earn us the dubious distinction of a mention on David Letterman's Small Town News segment.
Rodney Neal says that if we want to continue to be the home of the Fighting Purple Warriors, we will place the Bonhi Warrior on the water tower. Otherwise, we have to change our logo and become the home of the Fighting Purple Water Towers. At the risk of offending any team proudly carrying that logo, I can't imagine it looking all that good on the side of a helmet. And, during a brutal practice, when coach yells at you to stand there and fight like a water tower, will anybody know exactly what that means?
Thanks to guys like Gary Hall, maybe it won't come to that.
