Hillary Baugh and Alix Agan gave it their best at the state tennis tournament this week in Austin but their quest for a state championship fell short Tuesday morning in the semifinals against the Menard Yellow Jackets.  

Menard's Laci Lyckman and Channing Dippell defeated Hillary and Alix 6-3, 6-3.  Trenton's duo played strong tennis throughout the match but it wasn't enough to overcome Lyckman and Dippell who went on to win the state title in the girls' double division.  With the loss, they finished third at the tournament. 

"Hillary and Alix played very well," stated Coach Mike Jones.  "They came ready to play this morning, things just didn't go our way down the stretch.  These young ladies have had an awesome season and everyone is very proud of Hillary and Alix."
