05-02-08 Investigators Harvey Smitherman and Chad Butler went to a residence off of Driggs Lane near Denison to execute an arrest warrant. When one of the investigators went to the back door of the residence he observed a red motorcycle near the back door. After determining the suspect was not at the residence, the tag number was run on the motorcycle and it came back stolen out of Austin, Texas in 2005. A wrecker was called so that the Sheriff’s Office could take custody of the stolen property. After leaving the residence, investigators saw the suspect driving a maroon Oldsmobile. They stopped the vehicle and arrested 47-year old Ronnie Dean Stokes of Denison on a warrant for Theft under $20,000.00. He remains in the Grayson County Jail on a $50,000.00 bond.
05-03-08 Deputy Brent Norris and Cpl. Marty Hall were dispatched to a residence on Raintree Road east of Sherman on a noise complaint around 1:00am. Upon arrival, they observed three females exiting a vehicle with an open beer bottle in their hands. A male subject was also in the driveway and was urinating on the ground. When he saw the deputies, he ran into the woods. Deputy Gurley, Macanas and Cpl. Miller also arrived to assist with identifying subjects. Two kegs of beer was also located on the back porch. In all 13 minors were written tickets for Minor in Consumption of Alcohol, Minor in Possession of Alcohol and the one who was responsible for the party was 20-year old Joseph Wayne Wagner of Bells, was arrested for Purchasing & Furnishing Alcohol to Minors.
05-03-08 A resident in the 6800 block of Fm-691 west of Denison reported to Deputy Joe Shires that someone had entered his home and took some photographs and checkbooks. No sign of forced entry could be found and the resident was advised to call his bank and report it to them. Possible suspects will be investigated in this case.
05-04-08 Deputy Joe Ross responded to Big Mineral Marina North of Sadler on a Criminal Mischief call. Upon arrival Deputy Ross met with the manager who showed him that someone had run through the entrance gate. Evidence was collected at the scene and Deputy Ross and DPS Trooper Shaw went down to a campsite where it was believed the suspect vehicle was. Making contact with the suspect vehicle, the evidence matched up with the damage on the truck. The owner of the vehicle showed up and advised that was his vehicle. Information was gathered from the three individuals all from Gainesville. Photos were taken of the damage to the truck plus damage to the gate and the evidence that was at the scene. This report will be forwarded to the Grayson County Attorney’s Office for Criminal Mischief over $1,500.00.
05-04-08 A representative from Grayson Collin Electrical Coop reported to Deputy Kevin Chearis that someone had cut the lock on one of their sub-stations near Collinsville. Once inside, the thieves cut copper ground wire from several of the service poles, estimated value at over $2,000.00. The estimated cost to replace all of the copper, the poles would have to be dug up and wire re-strung at the cost of about $8,000.00.
05-04-08 Burglary call on a house under construction on Calf Creek Lane near Sherman. The contractor told Sgt. Bowling that someone had entered the home he was building and took all of the light switches, wall sockets and smoke alarms all valued at over $200.00.
