Someday it may be a piece of local trivia.
Thursday, April 24 was the inaugural open mic night at Frenzee’s & Two Chicks Coffee Bar and, in the free-form spirit of coffeehouse performers, the material ranged from C.S. Lewis to Ozzy Osborne.
And the first performer to ever take the stage at Frenzee's?

Cheryl Youree
|
Well, that was Cheryl Youree, drama teacher at Tom Bean High School, with an energetic performance taken from "Jabberwocky," a poem by C.S. Lewis.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
--C.S. Lewis
The crowd was there, happy to have free entertainment and more than happy to enjoy the coffee bar, with hot & cold beverages and sweet delights, which stays open until 10:00 p.m.
The café kitchen is open 5:30-8:30 (you can bring your own wine & glasses if you like…Frenzee’s can keep it chilled for you if needed)
This is to be strictly an acoustic atmosphere, although exceptions were made on opening night. A microphone and an amp for your acoustic guitar is provided. An electronic keyboard is also available, but no pre-recorded music is allowed.
The next Last Thursday Open Mic Night will be May 29.
