Park Place Porsche recently hosted the Visiting Nurse Association’s “Wheels for Meals and More” fundraising gala, which raised more than $344,000. The fundraiser will help VNA complete the rebuilding of its headquarters in Dallas, which housed the Meals on Wheels kitchen before it was destroyed in a 2005 fire. In addition, the money raised will support the VNA’s Meals on Wheels, home care and hospice programs.
“Wheels for Meals and More” was co-chaired by Marianne Staubach and Mary Templeton. Mrs. Staubach is a VNA board member and long-time Meals on Wheels volunteer. In keeping with the “Wheels for Meals and More” theme, the gala was held in Park Place Porsche’s climate-controlled service garage. The theme also underscored that the services provided by VNA are “driven” to patients’ homes.
Last year, VNA prepared 856,918 meals for home delivery and made more than 100,000 home visits to provide home health and hospice care.
