The Bertha Voyer Memorial Library recently received a grant in the amount of $1,000.00 from the Libri Foundation. The Libri Foundation was established in 1989 for the sole purpose of helping rural libraries acquire new, quality, hardcover children’s books.

The Friends of the Bertha Voyer Memorial Library were instrumental in securing this grant by awarding a $350 grant that was then matched by the Libri Foundation two – to – one.  The BVML was one of only nine grant recipients in the state of Texas.

Upon notification of the receipt of the grant, Mary Fowler BVML’s librarian was mailed a list of over 500 books to choose from.  Mrs. Fowler selected 64 children and young adult titles that added up to the $1,350.00 in grant money.  After returning this list to Libri in February, the books were received at the library on April 16th.   The titles are varied in interest and reading level and range in cost from $5.99 to $26.00.

The Bertha Voyer Memorial Library invites you to join us in celebrating the good work of the Libri Foundation by coming by and seeing (and checking out!) our new books.  The library does not charge a fee for library cards and does not have a limited area of service.  Please call 903-378-2206 for more information or check out our website at www.honeygrove.org
