It was a hard fought battle with neither team scoring until the top of the 7th inning. Michael Day led off the inning with a single. Cory Shinn followed with a walk to put runners at first and second with no outs.
Both runners advanced to the next base on a wild pitch. Spillman brought in the first run with a sacrifice fly to center field, also moving Shinn to third.
Michael Smith came through with a single to left field, scoring Shinn and advancing on an error to second base. That is where the top of the 7th came to an end.
In the bottom of the 7th Spillman continued his near perfect outing. He struck out the first batter and finished the game with two ground-ball outs.
This victory brings the Bland Tigers to 8-2 in district 10-A. The Tigers will host Celeste on Friday night at 6:00 PM for another big game.
