Paul Phillip Hilliard was taken to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 11, 2008.  He was born in Nimrod, Arkansas on July 16, 1917.  Gober was his home.  He was a rancher, farmer, welder and construction worker.  He enjoyed his garden and the outdoors.  In his later years, he also worked for Wal-Mart. 

He was preceded in death by four young brothers and sisters, his brother, George and his parents, Sam and Cora Phillips Hilliard.

He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Beatrice Elnora Kitch Hilliard; a sister, Georgene Jackson; a daughter, Linda Paulette Hilliard Fox and husband, James; a son Billy Lloyd Hilliard; and five grandchildren, Jason Fox, Michelle James, Melissa Carey, Angela Fox and Cynthia Fox.  He was also blessed by six great grandchildren, Jordan James, Madisyn James, Gracie James, Justin Carey, Logan Carey and Robert Ransom.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, March 13, 2008 in Gober Baptist Church under the direction of Wise Funeral Home.  Rev. Michael Erwin will officiate.  Masonic graveside rites presented by the Bailey Ashley Lodge will follow in Arledge Ridge Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Masonic brethren and Dale Davis.

The family will receive friends at Gober Baptist Church from 10:30 AM until service time, Thursday.
