Elbie E. Caloway

Whitewright -- Graveside services for Elbie Earl Caloway, 66 of Whitewright will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 in Moores Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home.  Elbie passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 at his residence. 

Elbie was born Sept. 3, 1941 in Palmer, Texas, son of the late Elbie Floyd Caloway and Minnie Iva Jones Caloway.  He was a US Marine veteran and married Glenda Diana Cox, Nov. 17, 1965. Elbie was a police officer in Bells and Chief of Police in Van Alstyne before retiring in 1980.  He enjoyed going to the ranch with cattle and deer.  He loved traveling to Alaska and mountain areas where he hunted, fished and panned for gold.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Locke in 2005 and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Tate. 

He is survived by

Wife:  Diane Caloway of Whitewright

Sons:  Jeffery Earl Zernial and wife, Marla of Orange, TX

Sgt. Bryan Earl Caloway and wife, Miranda, stationed in   Germany

Daughter:  Angie Caloway and husband, Calvin Black of Bonham

Sister:  Betty Main of Terrell, TX

7 Grandchildren:  Paul, Dalton, Dennis, Kelly, Bryanna, Makayla and Kelbie.   

The family will be at Wise Funeral Home from 12:30 until 1:30 PM prior to services, Wednesday afternoon.
