<font color="blue"><b>Dodd City Junior High captures 1st place at District UIL Meet</b></font>

Dodd City Junior High School students placed first at the 2007-08 District UIL Meet held at Sulphur Bluff on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 by compiling 583 total points for the event. Saltillo finished second with 397 points and Miller Grove finished third with 298 points.

Other schools participating were Campbell, Phoenix Charter, Roxton, Savoy, and Sulphur Bluff. The team was sponsored by Louise Knight and Wayne Tarpley. Academic coaches were Andrea Reed, Dusty Compton, Yvette Herrin, Milton Page and Celia Weeks.

The team consisted of twenty-three seventh and eighth grade students.

Seventh grade participants were Hunter Brent, Misty Goodin, Rainey Goodin, Alex Hilliard, Briann Hilliard, Tucker Irwin, Tyler Knight, Landon Liebel, Christie Petty, Hayley Smith, Sterling Smith and Karley Tucker.

Eighth grade participants included Landon Darwin, Jesus Gonzales, Lorena Gonzales, Sarah Gustine, Julie Hellwarth, Bo Jones, Lexi Langford, Kaitlyn Massie, Connor Reed, Jaylen Wallace and Shihei Williams.
