Lindsay head volleyball coach Bridget Anderle knew she had good athletes to work with when she watched her Lady Knights start their summer practices.  But she would never have dreamed the second-year program couldn't be stopped until the regional finals. 

Anderle's first year in charge of her hometown team turned out to be one to remember.  The Lady Knights went 25-11, came within a few points from making it to the final four before falling in the regional finals to Kopperl in a five-game thriller and now two Lindsay players have earned a spot among the very best in the state.

Madisen Burrows and Chelsea Hermes, both seniors at Lindsay High School, have been named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State Volleyball Team for 2007.

"Both of these girls are very competitive at everything they do," Coach Anderle explains, "and their work ethic is tremendous. Of course Chelsea was a member of the Class 1A State Champion Cross Country Team, as well as a varsity cheerleader. She is very busy. She is a superb athlete who is very coachable. I am so fortunate to have gotten to coach Chelsea my first year at Lindsay."

"Madisen Burrows plays select soccer outside of school. The one area that I thought we may have trouble with this season was the setting position, simply because it usually takes time for kids to pick that up and learn not only how to set, but how to run the offense.  There are alot of little things to know to be a good setter. Madisen works extremely hard at everything she does, and I could not have been more proud of the way she took ownership of that position."

"These two seniors have contributed to our team in many ways this cinderella season, and have set an example for Lindsay volleyball players in years to come," predicts Coach Anderle. "I am fortunate to have had girls like this on my team my first year at Lindsay."
