TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - The Southeastern Oklahoma State women's basketball team (1-1) evened their record on the year with a 75-66 win over Arkansas Tech (0-2) at the Northeastern State Classic in Tahlequah, Okla.

Jessica Hocker paced all scorers with 24 points on the night, including a 14-of-15 effort at the free throw line.

Jasmine Hughey had a great night off the bench with 18 points and nine rebounds in just 19 minutes of work. Channing Gann also reached double-figures in points on the night with 10.

As a team, the Storm shot 87.5 percent from the charity stripe, going 28-of-32.

SOSU dominated the boards against the Golden Suns, pulling down 43 rebounds to ATU's 25.

Southeastern jumped out in front early, and by the 14:49 mark had built a 12-4 lead on ATU.

The Suns whittled away at the Storm lead, cutting it to one point twice before overtaking SOSU at the 7:59 mark, 20-19.

That lead did not last long for ATU, however, as Southeastern responded with a 15-0 run to climb ahead 34-20 with 4:04 to play.

SOSU maintained the double-digit lead until Brittany Gottsponer hit a three pointer with :09 to play in the half to cut the Storm lead to 36-29 at the break.

Arkansas Tech scored quickly in the second half to trim the lead to 36-31, but after a three-plus minute dry spell, Southeastern pushed its lead back out to 10 points on a three point bucket from Ashley Tucker.

SOSU held a 51-39 lead with 11:45 to play, but ATU began slicing into the Storm lead and by the 7:21 mark, the Golden Suns trailed by the score of 53-52.

After trading free throws, the Storm still led by just one, but four-straight points from Hughey put Southeastern up 59-54.

The Suns would never get closer than four points down the stretch, as SOSU used solid shooting at the line in the final minute to hold on for the 75-66 win.

Southeastern will now return Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium to open the home portion of the 2007-08 schedule by hosting Mid America Christian at 6 p.m. on Nov. 20.
