DALLAS, TEXAS -- Artist Michael Godard, known as the "Rock Star of the Art World," is making an encore performance at the 2007 Margarita Charity Ball on November 10. Godard is currently the #1 selling artist in the US

In 2006, Dallas Margarita Society, Inc. (DMS) d.b.a. Dallas Children's Charities commissioned Godard to create a special 30th Anniversary piece for DMS. During the 2006 Margarita Ball, Godard painted another one of a kind, in front of a crowd of thousands of people.

This year, the DMS is expecting another brilliant performance from Godard. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on the one of kind piece of art created live that night. Additionally, there will also be several of Godard's pieces in the Silent Action.

Oh My God...ard!” Are usually the first words out of peoples' mouths when they view Michael Godard's work. From the mind of an artist who does not drink, comes his vision of fun that fits most people's lifestyle.

"I am not a drinker, (some people call me a cheap date) as after one drink I'm under the table looking up at the gum stuck there! But I love the fun of drinking, and all of the little things that go in and around the drinks. Martini's are a special favorite of mine to paint, as there are thousands of different ways that people take a drink that is basically pure alcohol!"

Michael grew up in Las Vegas & southern California. He is widely recognized as one of the most creative, best selling and versatile artists of our time. Michael was the first California artist to do "Cows on Parade" that was featured on Oprah. He has also appeared on ABC, NBC, OCN, KOCE, KCET, Evening Magazine, the Christopher Lowell Show on the Discovery Channel and in the NY Film Festival's award winning documentary "Behind the Artist: Michael Godard."

Godard was commissioned by the double platinum rock band Dishwalla to do the cover of their third album "Opaline" and their most recent self-titled album "Dishwalla." His work can be found in numerous art galleries (including Plano's Oh My Godard Gallery DFW), homes and businesses throughout the US and Japan. Many celebrities including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Vince Neil, Traa of the band P.O.D. and Carey Hart are collectors.

Although the themes vary, Michael Godard's art changes the face of even the most traditional subjects, creating mood and mystery on canvas, that at times are painted so realistic you feel as though the subjects will reach out and touch you. Godard finds a unique way of unfolding this delicate balance of texture, color, humor and imagination to evoke drama and emotion of all kinds.

The Dallas Margarita Society, Inc., (d.b.a. Dallas Children's Charities) was formed in 1977 when a small group of business acquaintances decided to host a holiday party for associates and friends, and asked their guests to bring Christmas gifts for less fortunate children. The Society is a non-profit charitable organization whose goals are twofold. The first is to provide disadvantaged Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex children with gifts at Christmas time and the second is to help those community organizations that work directly with underprivileged children throughout the year. Their Charity Ball has grown over the years and is now believed to be the largest annual invitation only charity black tie gala in the world, with over 10,000 guests, providing gifts for more than 6,800 disadvantaged children each year.

The Dallas Margarita Society achieves its goals by hosting fundraising happy hours throughout the year, an annual golf tournament in early summer and the Charity Ball early in the holiday season. At the Ball, guests are encouraged to bring toys or sponsor gifts with cash. Additionally, sponsors are solicited and through their generosity the Society provides operating support and scholarships to numerous community organizations. In 2005, The Dallas Margarita Society/Dallas Children's Charities collected over $405,000 in toys and cash in conjunction with over $175,000 in corporate and individual sponsorship donations. All fund-raising activities and events are donated to local DFW children's charities.

Over the past 30 years, the community impact generated by the activities and fund raising events of the DMS/DCC continues to prove every year that harnessing the charitable spirit of a few friends can be directed to reach out and truly "lift up" thousands of kids in need.
