The Best of the Best Economic Development Awards hosted by Roger Staubach
DALLAS, TEXAS (October 5, 2007)... Comerica Bank and eight area companies were honored at the Greater Dallas Chamber Momentum Awards reception held last night at Dallas' Hotel Crescent Court. The 2006 Momentum Awards were hosted by Roger Staubach.
Awards were presented in the following categories:
The corporate relocation award is presented to a company who has moved its headquarters from outside the 12-county region to within the Metroplex.
Comerica Bank received the corporate relocation award. Comerica announced plans to locate its corporate headquarters from Detroit to downtown Dallas earlier this year.
The corporate relocation, corporate facility award is presented to a company that has opened or expanded a manufacturing, distribution, office, call center or other facility in the area.

American Marazzi Tile received the corporate facility award for its new state of the art manufacturing plant in Sunnyvale, Texas. The new facility is expected to increase Marazzi's employment to 557 once completed.
Employment growth - this award is presented to companies who have experienced an increase in their employment base on a local or national basis.
Corgan Associates, Inc., one of the top ten architectural and engineering firms in the nation, received the national growth award. Corgan recently constructed a new building in the West End for its corporate headquarters and experienced a 23 percent spike in their employment.
Stream Energy, one of the fastest growing companies in the region, received the award for the company with the largest percentage increase in employment. Stream Energy is one of the largest participants in the deregulated residential energy market.
Fidelity Investments, is the recipient of the local growth by total jobs award. Fidelity added more than 550 jobs to the region and is currently building a new facility adjacent to its current campus in Westlake.
Community Catalyst - This award given to an organization whose activities makes the Dallas/Fort Worth region a better place.
Victory Park was presented with the Community Catalyst Award. Victory Park is one of the premier urban developments in the country and includes the W Hotel, American Airlines Center, residential and retail developments.
Community Investor - This award honors the company or organization having the greatest overall economic and community impact in the Metroplex.
Craig Ranch was awarded the Community Investor award. Craig Ranch is a 2,500 acre development in McKinney that is expected to have an impact of $3 billion once it is fully developed.
Workforce Catalyst - This award is a presented to a company that is helping to prepare the future workforce.
The Allen Group received the Workforce Catalyst Award for its efforts in securing a $2 million federal highway pilot program to provide workforce training to minority and women owned businesses and students interested in becoming transportation contractors. The program launched this earlier this year at Cedar Valley College.
Technology Catalyst - This award is presented to a company that is making great strides in the technology sector.
Authentix, Inc. received the Technology Catalyst award. Authentix is locating its manufacturing plant from Pennsylvania to Addison. This move bolsters the nanotech base in DFW.
Awards of merit were presented to: Town of Addison, Avelo Mortgage, Business Network International, Frisco Square, Latino Business Hour, Trintech Inc., Wachovia Bank and The Warrior Group.
Established in 2003, the award celebrates companies who have experienced sizeable job growth and are making a positive economic impact on the region. Holmes Murphy and Associates, The Dallas Morning News and Regali Promotions served as sponsors for the event.
