No. 2 Commerce girls sweep Pittsburg

The Commerce Lady Tigers faced off against Pittsburg High School on Tuesday night and walked away with a 3-0 sweep.

With Commerce controlling much of the tempo from the start, the Lady Tigers were able to gain a 21-8 advantage and a quick win in the first game; with the final score of 25-14.

Game two saw much of the same action throughout the game, only it was a little closer. Commerce was able to finish the second game with a 25-19 win.

In game 3 Commerce was able to pull out to a 17-10 lead and never let go to finish the Pittsburg girls off at 25-15.

"One thing I did notice tonight was that we didn't play down to our competition tonight," Commerce head coach Kelsey Hall observed. "This is something we have struggled with all season and we might have broken that mold tonight."

The win brought Commerce's record to 25-4. 

Commerce starts district on Friday against Community.  Games begin at 5:00 p.m. with the varsity playing first followed by the JV and freshmen.
