Pottsboro wins challenger bracket of Whitesboro Invitational

The Pottsboro Lady Cards tuned up for their upcoming District 14-2A opener by defeating Celina, Sanger and Savoy to win the challenger bracket championship at the 2007 Whitesboro Invitational Volleyball Tournament.

Pottsboro setter Jessica Carson dished out 34 assists to the Lady Card hitters in the three victories.  Ashley Thomas added 19 assists.  Reagan Hayes finished the day with 26 kills, followed closely by Kristy Townsend (22 kills) and Courtni Bauer (20 kills).

Sydney Perry served up 14 aces to lead the Lady Cards.  Thomas came up with 11 digs, with Carson and Lynssie Crews each contributing 10 digs.

The Lady Cardinals (16-5) will begin district play against Tom Bean on Tuesday at Tom Bean. The games will begin at 5:00.
