WITH HIGHEST HONORS - Jason Trout of Sulphur Springs has graduated with a bachelor of science with highest honors from Texas A&M University-Commerce on Aug 11. His Thesis, "Implementing Discrete KA Neural Networks for Financial Time Series Prediction" looks at financial data such as currency and stock exchange rates over time and attempts to extract a pattern for future predictions using artificial intelligence.
"It's not completely foolproof," says Trout, "because there is a lot of noise in the environment and information gets distorted."
Trout fell in love with math and computers while attending high school in Sulphur Springs. He is currently employed by high-technology company L-3 Communication Integrated Systems in Greenville.
