Seating still available for the July 16 and July 17 seminars
DALLAS---Director of pharmacy education at ZRT Laboratory and nationally known hormone-replacement expert Jim Paoletti will be the special guest speaker at two free seminars Monday, July 16, and Tuesday, July 17, at Pharmacy Compounding Specialties. The July 16 seminar is specifically for medical professionals, while the July 17 seminar is open to the general public.
The seminars, both at 6:30-8p.m. at the pharmacy’s 8061 Walnut Hill Lane store, will include a discussion by Paoletti about what bio-identical hormones are and how they differ from conventional therapies. He also will discuss the goals of bio-identical hormone restoration and how to get started on the path to hormone balance.
The medical professionals’ session qualifies for one hour of continuing education credit. A light dinner will be served during the July 16 session
“Many people, even in their 20s and 30s, have hormone issues,” said Jim Porter (DPh, RPh, A.C.N.), consultant pharmacist for Pharmacy Compounding Specialties. “Some don’t even know it.”
Paoletti, a registered pharmacist, works for Beaverton, Ore.-based ZRT Laboratory, an independently owned hormone-testing facility. Founded in 1998 by biochemist and breast cancer researcher David T. Zava, ZRT Laboratory delivers convenient, minimally invasive saliva and blood-spot testing services. Using cutting edge technology, ZRT Laboratory’s test products help to identify preventable hormone imbalances.
Paoletti came to ZRT as a pharmacy consultant and a past vice president/director of continuing education for Professional Compounding Centers of America, Inc. (PCCA) — an incorporated re-packager of unformulated bulk pharmaceuticals and provider of technical training for compounding pharmacists. At PCCA, Paoletti consulted with compounding pharmacists throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. He has lectured extensively and internationally on all aspects of bio-identical hormone therapies, including dosage forms, dosing guidelines, testing and monitoring, lifestyle and nutritional influences.
Seating at the seminar is limited. For reservations, call Diane Porter 972-345-8617 or Julie Yarnall at 214-327-8200.
