Austin College senior John Holley to play classical clarinet pieces

SHERMAN - Austin College senior John Holley will perform three pieces for clarinet on Friday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Wynne Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.

Holley, from Denison, Texas, has played clarinet for 10 years and will be performing Brahms' Sonata for Clarinet and Piano Op. 120 Nr. 2, N. Rimsky-Korsakoff's Clarinet Concerto for B-flat Clarinet and Piano, and Mozart's Kyrie, K.V. 89, arranged by Austin College Professor of Music Ricky Duhaime.

Austin College, affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), is an independent, liberal arts college located 60 miles north of Dallas in Sherman, Texas. Chartered in November 1849, it is the oldest college in Texas under original charter and name as recognized by the State Historical Survey Committee.
