Park Place Motorcars Fort Worth hosted a kick-off party May 25 for the Arts Council of Fort Worth & Tarrant County’s 26th Annual Toast of the Town gala. The dealership also unveiled the new Mercedes-Benz GL, a full-sized sport utility vehicle.

Featuring spicy paella and toasted Cuban sandwiches, jicama-mango salad and refreshing mojitos by Wendy Krispin catering, the party reflected the tone of the Arts Council’s upcoming gala’s theme “A Night in Old Havana.”

A dee-jay played Latin music as several dancers entertained the crowd with salsa dancing. Toast of the Town, a black-tie gala featuring “The Prince of Latin Dance” Tito Puente, Jr., will be held December 2 at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel in downtown Fort Worth. The event will benefit Fort Worth arts groups through the programs of the Arts Council.

The 2007 Mercedes-Benz GL, rated to tow up to 7,500 pounds, is a roomy seven-seater sporting a 335-horse, V8 engine standard. A seven-speed, automatic transmission powers all four wheels. Downhill Assist Regulation and Hill Start Assist technologies are also standard, while an Off-Road package includes a two-speed transfer case, front and rear locking differentials, and an air suspension that can raise the GL an additional 12 inches.
