The search for the perfect fishing spot to catch bass, trout or walleye is now as easy as a click of the mouse, with the online version of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Your Guide to Fishing on National Wildlife Refuges. The 2005 fishing guide was updated this year for the first time in more than a decade.

With the easy-to-use online fishing guide, anglers can search by the species they’re interested in, region, state, specific refuge, or a refuge with a particular amenity, such as a boat launch or facilities for the disabled.

From Dolly Varden and northern pike in the wild and remote reaches of Alaska to pompano and Spanish mackerel from Florida’s Gulf of Mexico, national wildlife refuges offer anglers adventure and diversity. Approximately 270 national wildlife refuges have quality fishing opportunities, representing every type of sport fishing on the continent.

You can also reach Your Guide to Fishing on National Wildlife Refuges by going to the National Wildlife Refuge System’s Web home page at www.fws.gov/refuges.
