Garland, Texas -- Funeral services for Harvey Winfred Shipman, age 80, of Garland will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2005 at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Honey Grove, Texas with Rev. Terry Paul Cunningham officiating.  Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.   Mr. Shipman passed away November 17, 2005 at Garland Nursing Center.

He was born January 1, 1925 in Honey Grove, Texas to Elmer Shipman and Willie Mae Eaton.  Mr. Shipman married Ruth Imogene Newhouse on January 16, 1945 in Honey Grove.  He was a mechanic on heavy equipment and of the Baptist faith.

Harvey Winfred Shipman is survived by his wife, Ruth Shipman of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Loren Kennedy of Nevada, Texas; son, Jack Shipman of Wiley, Texas; son, Harvey Wayne Shipman of Garland, Texas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Linnie Mae Locke of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister, Betty Jean Margraves of Paris, Texas; brother, Billy Shipman of Smithfield, Texas; and brother, Bob Shipman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
