100+ select restaurants help North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home raise funds for 1.5 million meals for hungry families

WHAT:   Thousands of discerning diners will try new restaurants and revisit old favorites while supporting hunger relief during the 8th Annual KRLD RESTAURANT WEEK benefiting the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home.

 

Last year KRLD Restaurant Week raised nearly $250,000 for both organizations.

WHEN:   Monday, August 15 - Sunday, August 21, 2005; evening dining. Some restaurants will extend the campaign through Sunday, August 28, and a few will even extend through September 4. Check the restaurant listing to determine which have one-, two-, or three-week campaigns.

WHERE:  100+ restaurants are located throughout the Dallas and Tarrant County areas. A complete list of restaurants can be found soon at www.krld.com, www.ntxfoodbank.org (click on current events) or www.lendapopehome.org.

WHAT ELSE:      Reservations are required and limited. To receive this special price, call the restaurant of your choice and request a KRLD Restaurant Week reservation.  Each restaurant selects appetizers, entrées and desserts in advance (ordering from the menu is not included in this special price). Tax, gratuity, and beverages are the responsibility of the diner. The $6.00 charitable donation is included in the $30.00 meal

This past year, the Food Bank distributed over 28 million pounds of food to 400 agencies in 13 North Texas counties. The Lena Pope Home provided services to more than 20,000 individuals through its family preservation, counseling, school and foster care programs.
