The Bland Lady Tigers let nerves take them down early in the game on Tuesday against the North Hopkins Lady Panthers.  The home team Lady Tigers were down 5-0 in the top of the first inning.  Bland had 3 infield errors and allowed five runs on four hits before they ever picked up a bat.

While North Hopkins was slamming the hits and driving in runs, the Lady Tigers were having a hard time making contact.  Bland had two base runners and 1 hit in five innings putting them down 7-0 in the top of the sixth.

In the bottom of the sixth inning the Lady Tigers came to life and scored 3 runs when Amanda Twiss, hit a single to left sending Kristen Smith and Candi Brooks around the bases then scoring herself on a throwing error.  There were two outs and Scarlett Brixey hit a line drive up the middle landing a single to keep the rally going but was left stranded with a strike out at the plate.

The Lady Tigers held the Lady Panthers in their final at bat and then the game ended when they were shut down in the bottom of the seventh inning, ending their season with a 15-5 record.

The Lady Tigers return next season with 11 seniors on the roster.

North Hopkins advances to the area round with a record of 17-9.
