'Walk and Roll' for Alzheimer's Nov. 14 in Bonham: Registration begins at 9:00 a.m.
The First Annual Fannin County "Walk and Roll For Alzheimer's" will be held Saturday, November 14 at Powder Creek Park in Bonham. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Join your friends and neighbors at Northeast Home Health of Bonham and support Fannin County’s Silver Seniors by participating in this event designed to raise funds for local Alzheimer's programs and other essential elder care programs for Fannin County through Texoma Council of Governments (TCOG). Programs include 211 Emergency Hotline, legal assistance and nursing evaluations.

Fort Worth offers free paper shredding to celebrate Texas Recycles Day Nov. 14
Fort Worth residents can have their personal papers shredded for free at the City of Fort Worth’s annual Shred Day. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Greenstar Fort Worth’s facilities 1100 NE 23rd St. in Fort Worth. The event, which is Fort Worth’s way of recognizing the statewide celebration of Texas Recycles Day, is co-sponsored by City of Fort Worth and Greenstar Fort Worth.

Fannin County Sheriff’s Office report for 11-09-2009
Deputy Mueller responded to the Red River Regional Hospital regarding a gunshot victim. Deputy made contact with the victim who stated he had been accidently shot by his juvenile son. The father and son were hunting on their property in the northeast Fannin County. The father and son were walking down a pool embankment when the son accidently discharged his .22 caliber rifle striking his father in the back.

McKinney's Whisenant Park grand opening set Nov. 13
A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled to celebrate the opening of John M. Whisenant Park, McKinney's newest neighborhood school park and the second such opening in less than a month. Office of Cong. Sam Johnson hosts free information session on Medicare for seniors Dec. 9
On Wednesday, December 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Garland, the staff of U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson (3rd Dist.-Texas) will host a free information on Medicare for seniors. The informational program is free and open to the public. There will be free blood pressure screenings. There also will be flu shots available for $21 while supplies last.
