McKINNEY, Texas (Nov. 5, 2009) – McKinney Mayor Brian Loughmiller and McKinney Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) President/CEO David Pitstick attended the TexasOne Economic Summit in Dallas on Nov. 4. The summit focused on economic development trends in Texas now and into the future.

The meeting featured keynote speaker Gov. Rick Perry. Mayor Loughmiller had the honor of sitting at the governor’s table for the luncheon.

"We had a great opportunity to meet with economic development directors from the State Economic Development office as well as those from other Texas cities. We also met site selection specialists and executives of major corporations and gained valuable insight into economic development processes,” said Loughmiller. “This is a great example of the benefit of being part of Governor Perry's TexasOne Program. McKinney is increasing it's investment in this program to take advantages of the opportunities available through collaboration with our state agencies. We will continue to proactively pursue opportunities to go beyond our city boundaries for opportunities to educate people about the benefits of developing in McKinney with our quality of life, sound educational facilities and vibrant citizenry as we continue to expand our infrastructure."
