Savoy Lady Cardinals fall to Evant in area round

An exciting season of playoff volleyball came to an end for the Savoy Lady Cardinals on Thursday after Evant earned a four-game win in the area round.

A fired-up young Savoy team took the opener, 25-17.  Evant regrouped and won the next two games, 25-20 and 25-16.

A valiant effort by Savoy almost forced a tiebreaker, but Evant edged the Lady Cardinals 26-24 in game four.

Evant will now face the winner of Tolar/Red Oak Life in a Region II-A Quarterfinal match.
