Printed From North Texas e-News == ntxe-news.com Sports The District 11A champion Lindsay Lady Knights will take on Ranger, the third seed out of District 9A, at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5 in a Region II-A Area Round contest to be played at Jacksboro, Texas. The victor will advance to the Region II-A Quarterfinals and take on the winner of the Albany/Blue Ridge match. Although Lindsay has been the top-ranked team in Class A for most of the year, the Lady Knights know Ranger swept their opponent in bi-distict action and they know every opponent is lethal this time of the year. And four Lady Knights know, from here on out, every time they step out onto the court, it could be their last chance to represent Lindsay in volleyball. Seniors Brenna Mlinar, Kristin Martin, Kaylee Murphree and Jessica Thurman would have been freshmen in 2006 when Lindsay first fielded a varsity volleyball team. The next year, Lindsay hired current head coach Bridget Anderle and the Lady Knights almost made it to the final four. It took the No. 4 team in Texas, Kopperl, to knock the Lady Knights out of the playoffs in a five-game heartbreaker at the regional finals played in Weatherford. That was 2007 and only Lindsay's second year to compete at the varsity level. Fast forward to 2009. Wide-eyed sophomores are now seasoned seniors. For four Lady Knights, this is their final crusade. It will be interesting to see where that crusade takes them.
