Printed From North Texas e-News == ntxe-news.com Local News Commerce -- At approximately 7:40 a.m. on November 3, Commerce Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to an auto-pedestrian accident in the 2100 block of Live Oak Street. Officers discovered that an elderly man had been struck by a 2006 Toyota Tundra Pick Up. TAMU-C PD Officers assisted with this accident. Upon investigation, it appears that the pedestrian, Dr. Jack Ingram, was crossing the roadway near the intersection of Live Oak Street and Prim Street. The truck was turning left onto Live Oak from Prim Street. The driver states that the sun was in her eyes as she turned, and felt that she struck something in the roadway. She stopped her vehicle and discovered she had struck a pedestrian. Dr. Ingram was transported by American Medical Response to Hunt Regional Community Hospital in Greenville. He was pronounced dead a short time later by Justice of the Peace Sandy Lane Berger. An autopsy has been requested. Foul play is not a factor in this accident.
