Gibbs wins GCC's Dickson Scholarship for Nursing

Christy Louise Gibbs of Ivanhoe has received the T.A. and Mary Dickson Nursing Scholarship at Grayson County College, winning the prestigious $1000 scholarship. 

Gibbs is a sophomore student in the Associate Degree Nursing program.

The scholarship was started in 1981 by Guan and Mary Lue Smith in honor of former Sherman City councilman and railroad representative T.A. Dickson and his wife, Mary, a former Sherman school teacher.

The scholarship selection is based on a student's grade point average, outstanding character and demonstrated need.
