McKINNEY, Texas – McKinney encourages spring cleaning at the Chunk Your Junk event Saturday, May 17, to help make the city a cleaner community. Residents can chunk their junk between 8 a.m. and noon at the designated area located behind the McKinney Cotton Mill at Fowler St. and Burrus St.

Chunk Your Junk offers the opportunity to dispose of unwanted items from homes, garages and yards, such as broken furniture, old tires or odds and ends that do not fit into the residential trash container.

McKinney residents should bring proof of residency in the form of a recent water bill and driver’s license. Recyclables and yard waste will need to be sorted by the resident. No household hazardous waste or electronics will be accepted at this event, and no contractors or construction debris will be allowed.
