Tuesday Tidings rewards shoppers for supporting downtown McKinney businesses

McKINNEY, Texas (Dec. 2, 2013) – Home for the Holidays…A McKinney Christmas kicked off the holiday season in Historic Downtown McKinney, but the fun is far from over with new events in the town center all month long. From visits with Santa, to the season’s most festive shows like Pam Tillis: An Acoustic Trio Christmas or Turtle Creek Chorale at the McKinney Performing Arts Center (MPAC), there’s plenty of fun that will bring cheer to the entire family.

For those who still have gifts to buy, shoppers can also take advantage of Tuesday Tidings, a new downtown shopping rewards program. Shoppers who spend $75 (pre-tax) from any one downtown business on Dec. 3, 10 and 17 can bring the receipt to MPAC from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and receive a $10 gift card to a downtown restaurant. For more information on Tuesday Tidings, please visit www.mckinneytexas.org/tuesdaytidings.

“We want our residents and out of town guests to know that our annual Christmas festival isn’t just a weekend event anymore. We’ve created a month-long celebration of activities and entertainment for the entire family to enjoy in Historic Downtown McKinney throughout the rest of the year,” said MPAC Director Ty Lake. “We’re also excited to begin Tuesday Tidings, which rewards shoppers for supporting downtown businesses, where shoppers can purchase one-of-a-kind gifts from local boutiques that can’t be found anywhere else but right here in McKinney.”
