The on-going drought in north Texas prompted this year’s theme “More with Less” which focuses on gardening with water conservation. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic gardening specialists Theresa Thomas, who lives in Haltom City, has been a master gardener since 2009 in Tarrant County. She took her specialist training in 2010 in drip irrigation and rain barrel technology. She will give two presentations: one on Drip Irrigation--Every Drop Counts at 9:00 and a Rain Barrel Class--Saving from a Rainy Day at 10:30. Steve Huddleston is a Senior horticulturist at Fort Worth Botanic Garden since 1994. He produces a monthly cable TV show entitled Your Garden and broadcasts weekly on Neil Sperry's lawn and garden show. He also writes for Neil Sperry's GARDENS magazine, Dallas/Fort Worth House & Home, and Mansfield Magazine. Mr. Huddleston will give presentations covering the topics of Passalong Plants at 1:00, and Using Plants that Conserve Water at 2:30. He will have his books available for sale. In addition, Master Gardeners will be available to answer specific questions from homeowners.
Admission to the Expo is free but there is a $10 fee to hear one or all of the speakers.
