Fannin County 4-H makes mark at San Antonio Livestock Exposition

Fannin County 4-H made its mark at the San Antonio Livestock Exposition when the Consumer Decision Making team comprised of Jonathan Aukes, Mark Hodge, Trey Irvin, and Troy McDonald took first place in the competition.  Fifty-one senior teams made of up of 165 individuals competed in the event.

Along with the team victory, Troy McDonald finished individually as third highest scorer in the entire competition and earned himself a $10,000 scholarship.  Mark Hodge ranked as the 8th highest individual scorer in the competition. 

The Fannin 4-H Consumer Decision Making team is coached by Michele Aukes with the assistance of Dean Aukes.  This success is the result of a lot of hard work and dedication on the part of both team members and coaches.

The Consumer Decision Making contest is a part of the 4-H Consumer Education program which teaches participants to make wise decisions when shopping.  Project activities focus on the economy, money management, consumer rights and responsibilities, and the environment.
