On Friday, July 30, 2010, the Texas Education Agency released the campus and district accountability ratings.

These ratings are based on the performance of our students on the TAKS tests during the 2009-2010 school year. All campuses have achieved a rating of Recognized from the TEA. Additionally, for the first time in history, the district has achieved a rating of Recognized.

This year, Bonham ISD students have demonstrated their ability to achieve at higher levels of learning.

Superintendent Sonny Cruse praised the efforts of students, parents, teachers, and administrators for their hard work and determination to make our schools a great place to learn. Our results would not have been possible without everyone’s help and encouragement. After several years of unified effort, Bonham ISD has strengthened its instructional program to bring the district to this level of excellence in academic achievement.

The state accountability system is very complicated. Each campus must achieve an established proficiency level on multiple indicators to be considered Acceptable, Recognized, or Exemplary. If the campus falls below the established criteria on any one of the indicators, the potential of receiving the higher rating is lost.

Finley-Oates Elementary is rated on the following indicators. The performance level achieved by the campus is listed to the right of the indicator.
