William Joe “Buck” Simmons, 84 of Michigan Prairie located northeast of Honey Grove passed from this world to meet his heavenly father on Monday March 15, 2010 at his home.

Funeral services will be 2:00P.M. Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Honey Grove and Bro. Rogers Simmons will officiate. Pallbearers will be family members and burial will be in the Simmons family cemetery.

Buck was born January 11, 1926 at Michigan Prairie, Texas. to parents Jess Augustus Simmons and Esther Susan Rogers Simmons. He married Beulah Jean Moody on Dec. 8, 1967 in Dallas, TX.

Mr. Simmons served his country in the U.S. Army during WW-II and the Korean Conflict. He was a truck driver and was of the Christian faith.

Buck is survived by his wife, Beulah Simmons of the home. Sons; William Simmons and Wife, Jackie of Clarksville, TX; David Simmons of Honey Grove, TX.; 2-Grandchildren and 5-Great Grandchildren, Sisters; Alvalyne Evans of Arlington, TX; Betty Mills of Lancaster, TX; Brothers; Curtis Simmons of Greenville, TX;  Rogers Simmons and Wife, Marie of Childress, TX.

The family will receive friends 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Thursday prior to services
