Fort Worth, Texas -- Guy Preston Stimpson, 88, passed away in Fort Worth, TX, on March 6, 2010.  He was born in Bonham, TX, on December 4, 1921 to Racy Bascom and Annie Eleanor Stimpson.  He graduated from Bonham High School, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, was assigned to active duty on August 21, 1942, and served in the Pacific Theater.  He received an honorable discharge on November 15, 1945.

Mr. Stimpson had a distinguished career for 35 years with General Dynamics (Lockheed) and retired as chief of international procurement in 1987.

Guy enjoyed his life and accepted every challenge as an opportunity.  He never looked for faults in anyone and appreciated all the friendships he shared.  He enjoyed his family, his pipe, a scotch and water, a good band, and room to dance.  He was a member of Moose Lodge #1889, American Legion Post #626, Elks Lodge #124, and the Bonham VFW Post #4852.

Guy will be missed and remains in the hearts of all who enjoyed his friendship.  The family would like to express its thanks to VITAS innovative hospice care for their support to the family and making Guy comfortable during his last days.

He is survived by his wife Joyce, daughter Margo Peel and husband Larry, sister Doris Dodson and husband Lloyd, brother R. B. Stimpson, Jr., granddaughter Shelly Peel and fiancé Randy Reed, grandson Tye Peel and wife Sandy, five stepchildren, many nieces and nephews, and special friends Ed and Mildred Duvall.

Guy was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Mary Louise Stimpson, his sister Anita, and his wife Mary Frances Stimpson.
