The staff and Friends of the Van Alstyne Public Library invite you to attend their Open House on March 27, from 4-7 p.m. "What can you learn at the library?" is the theme. As you enter, Friends of the Library will be present to greet you and tell you about the many activities they do in support of the library.
Teddie Ann Salmon and Beverly Martin will introduce you to resources in our Genealogy Department and our Local History section.
Juanita Hazelton show you how to use Resume Maker to help in jour job searches, and introduce you to the TexShare databases.
The Teen Council will provide samples of Foods from Around the World from our recipe book collection.
Jenny McQuirk will demonstrate yoga at our Fitness and Diet Booth.
A special guest from the Friends of the Hagerman Wildlife Refuge will introduce you to some of the programs they provide every month – and we’ll showcase some of our excellent books on birds.
There will be other tables featuring Art, Music, Quilting and Sewing, Spanish Culture and Food, Dog Training, Information for Homeschoolers, and Science Experiments. There will be a Silent Auction and the beautiful quilt donated by the Van Alstyne Quilter’s Club will be raffled.
Complete your evening by going from the library to Van Alstyne High School for the Multiple Sclerosis fundraiser at 7:00, also on March 27. If you have questions about the fundraiser, call Nancy Mosby at 903-482-5323.
