In order to meet the growing need for increased classroom space at Rayburn Collegiate Center on Hwy 121 in Bonham, the Bonham Industrial Foundation presented a $10,000 check that will enable Grayson College to significantly expand their current facilities.

Still, all parties involved realize this is a temporary solution.

"The growth of Fannin County students at the center has made the expansion necessary," explained Grayson County College vice president Roy Renfro. "We are bursting at the seams in our present facility."

The contribution from Bonham Industrial Foundation will allow the Rayburn Collegiate Center to more than double their current square footage from 3,500 to approximately 8,000.

Yet, the $10,000 donation is only a temporary fix, according to Bonham Industrial Foundation President Carl McEachern.

"What we want is a campus of Rayburn College to be built here in Fannin County," Mr. McEachern said.

In the meantime, the college will now be able to rent the area next door formerly occupied by Movie Gallery.
