Bonham ISD board filing period open until March 8

The election filing period for three Bonham school board seats will begin Saturday, February 6, (The first day for filing falls on a Saturday, but since the first day to apply is not a deadline, the first day to apply does not move to the next business day and the office is not required to be open on Saturday.) and ends Monday, March 8, at 5:00 p.m. 

Anyone interested in running for Places 3, 4, and 5 must file by 5:00 pm, March 8.  The election is May 8, with early voting from April 26 to May 4, 2010, at the Fannin County Courthouse. 

Currently, the following citizens serve in Place 3, 4, and 5:
Press Cox represents Place 3. (3 year term)
Jim Simpson represents Place 4.(3 year term)
Bob Thomas represents Place 5. (3 year term)

To qualify, candidates must be at least 18 and have lived in Texas at least a year by May 8, 2010.  They also must have resided within the Bonham Independent School District for at least six months by election day and be registered voters.  For an Application to Place Name on School Trustee Election Ballot, come by the Bonham ISD Administration Office at 1005 Chestnut Street, Bonham, TX.

Deadline for write-in candidates, March 15, 2010, 5:00 p.m.

Bonham ISD Administration Office, 1005 Chestnut Street, will be open 2:00-5:00 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2010.
