The Savoy Cardinals handled the Celeste Blue Devils 56-42 in the first round of the Celeste Tournament. The Cardinals led 16-10 at the end of one and then, behind a very good defensive effort, increased the lead to 31-14 at the half.
Both teams sored 9 in the third and 16 in the fourth.
The Cardinals were led by Justin Curry's 16, John Morris 14, Scott Bigbee's 12, Ricky Mueller's 4, Cameron Miller's 2, and Jacob Rolen's 2.
The Cardinals are now 6-2 on the season and will play Farmersville at 7:30 Friday 12-11-09 in the second round of the Celeste tourney.
