BONHAM -- Once again, it is time for bells to ring out, and voices to be raised in song as the Christmas Season begins. Surrounded by twinkling lights, and over 450 depictions of the Nativity scene: the birth of Jesus Christ, the audience can enjoy the Christmas Cantata “A King is Born.”
As a highlight of the seventh Annual Multi-Faith Creche (Nativity) Exhibit to be held December 4, 5 & 6 at Bonham’s Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are two special concerts. On Friday, December 4 at 7 p.m. the Bonham Ward Choir will be joined by the Bell Choir and soloists from the First United Methodist Church of Bonham, and singers from the Red River Chapter of the Sweet Adelines, as they present the Christmas Cantata.
In addition to the choirs, with accompaniment by pianists Pam Bennett and Patti Felmet, and organist Sheila Talley, again joining in this year’s performance will be harpist, Jessica Ashurst of Trenton.
The second concert is Sunday evening at 7 p.m. when the world-renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir can be heard live, via satellite from Salt Lake City, in their annual Christmas Devotional.
