Bonham junior high teams open season against Commerce

The Bonham Indians hosted the Commerce Tigers on Thurday night for the first basketball game of the season for both schools. 
 
In the 7th Grade B Game, the Commerce Tigers held on for a 16 to 12 victory. Jorge Solano led the Indian scoring with 4 points. Justin Deleon and Daniel Loredo also chipped in 2 points each.
 
In the 7th Grade A Game, the Commerce Tigers played a very aggressive game and came out on top with the victory. Final score was 49 to 32. Leading the scoring for this group was AJ White with 15 points and Kendall Kennedy with 13 points. Jarrod Trompler and Kenton Manis chipped in 2 points each to round off the scoring.
 
The 8th Grade B team suffered a 29 to 2 loss. The Commerce team played very well and capitalized on several Indian turnovers.
 
In the 8th Grade A Game it was Bonham 26 Commerce 20. Commerce had a definite size advantage, but the Indians adjusted to the size difference and held on to the win. Leading the Bonham scoring was Dra Smith with 12 points, followed by Chase Bardwell with 6 points, Jacob Kemp with 4 points and Greg Moses with 2 points. 
 
After the Thanksgiving Break the Indians will travel to North Lamar for their next contest.
