TxDOT announces new Sherman Area Engineer

PARIS, TX -- David R. Selman, P. E. has been appointed as the Sherman Area Engineer for the Paris District effective November 15, 2009.

David was born in Shreveport, LA & a native of Rodessa, LA.  After graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, David began his career with TxDOT in the Huntsville Residency as an Engineering Assistant.  In April 1989, David transferred to the Special Projects Design Section in the Bryan District.  He then transferred to the Gilmer Area Office in the Atlanta District in May 1993 and after that to the Longview Area Office in the Tyler District in 1997. 

David became the assistant area engineer in the Longview Area Office in January 2000, and has been serving as the Nacogdoches Area Engineer since October 2004.  The Sherman Area Office serves Grayson and Fannin counties.
 
Teresa & David have been married for 26 years and have 11 children.  They are Brock (23) who is a Marine, Briana (21) a voice major at Stephen F. Austin State University, Branden (19) a cinematography major at Angelina College, Brooke (16), Brittney (15), Brynn (12), Bryson (10), Brigette (8), Bradley (6), Brodie (3) & Brady (1). 

David's hobbies include backpacking, scouting, landscaping and gardening.
