Lorine Griffith of Denison died quietly in her home surrounded by family on Friday, November 6, 2009 after a long battle with emphysema and related illnesses.

Mrs. Griffith was born in Bonham, TX, August 5, 1944 to Wesley and Oleta Wilcox Swinney.  She attended schools in Wolfe City and Bonham.  She married Terry Lee Griffith September 5, 1961 in Sherman. She was a long-time employee of Medical Arts Clinic. At its closing, declining health kept her from the work force.

Lorine is survived by her husband, Terry, of the home, daughter Teresa Cowart and companion Steve Daughrity, granddaughters Megan Cowart and Ashley Lytle, great-grandson Evan, and two sisters, Leona Welch and Betty Isaacs, all of Denison. Dorothy Griffith (sister-in-law) of Sherman, Jerry Griffith (brother-in-law) of Ft. Worth and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her parents and brother Dewade Swinney.

Funeral arrangements are under direction of Waldo Funeral Home of Sherman. Service will be held in Waldo Chapel on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. Burial will be at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.  

Family night will be Monday, November 9, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will family members and friends.

At the family’s request, casual attire is acceptable.
