Theresia Baccus, 95, passed away at Clyde Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham, Texas on Thursday, November 5, 2009.

Graveside services will be 11:00A.M. Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, TX.

Mrs. Baccus was born Nov. 24, 1913 in Dallas, TX. to parents, Robert Roland Pospick and Anna Jahto Pospick. She met her husband, F.C.”Whitey” Baccus, while attending Southern Methodist University. He played football and basketball for SMU and some years later he became the head football coach for the Mustangs.  They married in 1934. Her beloved husband passed away August 1, 1969.

Mrs. Baccus graduated from Highland Park High School and after high school she attended and received her degree from SMU in 1936. She taught school at Memphis, Texas and Bonham High School. She and her husband moved to Bonham in 1960. She loved when her grandkids and great-grandkids came to the Cosper Veterans Home to visit her. They loved going to see their ‘Eah” and all her friends at the home. Some of the things she loved and enjoyed doing was to play bridge, watching the Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Cowboys, Tennis, and she was an avid traveler.

She was the Bonham High School Cheerleader sponsor from 1969 until 1978. She and her husband, “Whitey” donated land for Warpath Drive when the high school was built in 1971. Theresia was very tough minded and always demanded “good posture.”

Mrs. Baccus is survived by Randy Baccus and wife, Susan of Bonham, TX.; Jim Baccus and wife Terri of Baytown, TX. “Eah” is also survived by four granddaughters, Stephanie Baccus, Julie Crum, Aryn Self, and Jamie Baccus; three grandsons, Brian Baccus, Bret Baccus, and Josh Stapp; three great-granddaughters, Dani Baccus, Rion Baccus and Cesli Crum and two great-grandsons, Gavin Crum and J.T. Self, one sister, Anna Louise Carnahan and brother, William Pospick.

Along with her husband, she was also preceded in death by daughter, Pamela Stapp on Sept. 11, 2007
