SHERMAN, TEXAS —This fall, while many students were checking class supply lists and consulting course schedules, nearly 50 Austin College students were checking their passports and consulting international airline timetables in preparation for a semester of study abroad experiences.

International study is encouraged for all Austin College students. Over the past decade more than 70 percent of the college’s graduates have had at least one international study experience during college. Austin College has been ranked #1 in the nation for international study three times in the last five years by the Institute of International Education (IIE) for percentage of undergraduate participation among baccalaureate institutions. In a 2008 IIE report, Austin College was among the top 18 of all colleges and universities nationwide for international study participation.
